BOTOX IN OTTAWA
Botox stands as the leading aesthetic procedure globally, celebrated for its ability to diminish and prevent the formation of facial wrinkles and lines. Beyond smoothing the skin, Botox injections have the added benefit of elevating the eyebrows, giving you a more rested, rejuvenated, and youthful appearance. With regular Botox treatments, there’s a significant potential for enhancing your skin’s appearance over time. Common treatment areas include the crow’s feet, frown lines between the eyes, forehead wrinkles, eyebrows, and the jawline.

How Does Botox Work?
Facial lines and wrinkles are primarily formed through the repeated creasing of the skin, driven by facial expressions and muscle movements such as frowning and squinting.
Botox, a purified protein, functions by inhibiting nerve signals to the muscles where it is injected, thereby reducing muscle activity. This leads to weakening and relaxation of the muscles, which in turn prevents them from creasing the skin. Over time, as skin cells undergo renewal and regeneration, you’ll notice a gradual softening and smoothing of your skin.
To sustain the benefits of Botox, regular maintenance treatments are essential, given its temporary effects. Follow‐up sessions are generally recommended every three to four months.
What Can I Expect During My Botox Treatment?
On your treatment day, you’ll be greeted by our Nurse Practitioner, where she will discuss your beauty objectives in depth. Following a comprehensive evaluation of your facial structure, as well as any expression lines and wrinkles, the appropriate Botox dosage for your session will be determined. Prior to the start of your injections, the areas of your skin where Botox will be applied will be thoroughly cleaned to eliminate any makeup or oils (this step is crucial). We recommend arriving at your appointment makeup‐free if possible. Once your skin is prepped and cleansed, your injector will proceed with the Botox injections using a very fine needle, which might feel like a minor pinch. Botox sessions usually take between 10 to 30 minutes. Immediately after your session, you’re free to apply makeup and resume your regular activities, as Botox involves no downtime.
What Is The Expected Recovery Time After My Botox Treatment?
You can return to work and do your normal activities immediately. There is no downtime for Botox.
When Will I See Results After My Botox Injections?
Within 10 to 14 days following your Botox injections, you will start to notice the complete effects.
How Long Does Botox Last?
Typically, the effects of Botox can last between 3 to 4 months, varying based on your body’s metabolism rate. Since Botox results are not permanent, periodic touch‐up treatments are essential for sustaining the desired outcomes.
How Much Does Botox Cost at Dermis?
The price of Botox treatments depends on the individual client and the number of units needed for the areas being treated. An accurate cost estimate will be provided during your consultation. On average, Botox effects last between 3 to 4 months. To preserve your desired results, periodic touch‐up sessions are necessary.

Things To Know Before Your Botox Injections
Our goal is for you to see fantastic results and enjoy your rejuvenated, smooth skin. To help you achieve the best possible outcome from your Botox treatment, here are some key points to consider. Botox treatments are not suitable for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding. To lessen the chance of bruising, it’s advised to abstain from consuming alcohol for at least 48 hours before your injections. Enhancing the durability of your treatment can be achieved by avoiding physical exercise for 48 hours post‐treatment and steering clear of high heat environments (like saunas and hot yoga classes) for the first week after receiving Botox.
Following your injections, you might experience a bit of discomfort and feel the urge to touch or massage the treated areas; however, it’s important to resist doing so to allow your skin to heal properly without any disturbances. The recovery period post‐Botox typically ranges from 2 to 4 hours, during which it may seem appealing to lie down or rest, but it’s advisable to stay upright and avoid any facial pressure to minimize risks. Adhering to these recommendations will help ensure the longevity of your results and minimize the likelihood of bruising.
Please Note: Avoid lying flat for at least four hours following your Ottawa Botox® treatment to help ensure the best results. While side effects are uncommon, it is possible you will feel tender in the treatment area for a brief period. You’ll be looking your best in no time!
