Wart Laser Treatment in Ottawa
How Does The Excel V+ Treat Warts?
The Excel V+ treats warts using vascular laser technology to target the blood vessels that supply the wart. By delivering precise pulses of light to the area, the laser disrupts the blood flow to the wart, effectively causing it to shrink and eventually fall off. The Excel V+ laser is highly targeted, allowing for treatment of warts with minimal discomfort and minimal damage to the surrounding skin.
How Many Sessions Are Required?
For wart treatment with the Excel V+, typically 1 to 5 sessions are required, depending on the size, type, and location of the wart. Some warts may respond after a single treatment, while larger or more persistent warts may need additional sessions spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart. Learn more about our approach on wart laser treatment and the condition itself on our warts overview page.
Why Can’t Numbing Be Used Before The Laser Wart Removal Treatment?
Numbing creams or local anesthesia are generally not used when treating warts with a laser because the energy needs to penetrate the skin directly to target the wart. Using numbing agents could interfere with the laser’s ability to effectively reach and treat the wart. Additionally, wart laser treatments are usually quick and typically take no more than 10 to 15 minutes. To explore additional light and laser treatments for other concerns, visit our laser hub.
Things To Know Before Your Laser Wart Removal Treatment:
To prepare for wart treatment with the Excel V+, avoid sun exposure for at least 1 to 2 weeks before the session, as tanned or sunburned skin can increase the risk of complications. Use a daily mineral SPF such as EltaMD UV Clear SPF 46. Refrain from using irritating skincare products or topical treatments around the wart area a few days prior to your appointment. On the day of treatment, arrive with clean skin and avoid lotions, oils, or makeup on the area. If you have any concerns that might affect healing, please contact our team ahead of time. Laser wart removal cannot be performed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. For post treatment comfort, consider gentle hydration like Hydrating B5 Gel.
