Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are a form of scarring that often appear pink, red, purple, silver, or white, this is all dependent on the healing stage of the stretch mark. Stretch marks are commonly found near the arms, hips, breasts, thighs, abdomen, back, and buttocks.

Stretch marks are caused by a variety of reasons, including:

– Growth Spurts
– Pregnancy
– Weight Gain
– Muscle Gain

Rapid period of growth of the body results in stretch marks as the dermis tears to accommodate the growth. Initially the stretch marks typically appear pink, red, or purple, before healing silver or white.

Stretch marks are harmless but many clients still seek treatment due to their appearance. Older, healed stretch marks are typically more difficult to treat due to the structural changes in the dermal layer of the skin, but their appearance can still be improved if not eliminated.

Dermis Advanced Skin Care offers a variety of treatments designed to minimize or eliminate the appearance of stretch marks. These treatments target stimulating collagen production which promotes the healing process of the skin.
