NEW!! Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
A natural, non-invasive way to improve the look and feel of your skin.
Our clients are continuously seeking natural ways to improve the condition of their skin. This is why we, at Ottawa’s Dermis Advanced Skin Care clinic, have introduced our Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment for skin rejuvenation! Most commonly known as the “Vampire Facial,” PRP rejuvenates the skin by smoothing the look of wrinkles and scars, treating various skin conditions, and can even promote hair regrowth.
How It Works
PRP treatment is a safe, non-invasive procedure that works by injecting super-concentrated platelets into targeted areas to treat various conditions, including hair loss. Platelets are cells naturally found in blood that encourage healing. The platelet cells are extracted by drawing a small blood sample which is then agitated to separate the platelets and blood plasma from the red blood cells. The result is platelet-rich plasma that is then re-injected into the targeted area for treatment.
By encouraging the growth of tissue with PRP, the body develops a mesh just as it does when healing an injury. The activation of the body’s natural healing system, in turn, reveals fresh, younger-looking skin!
PRP For Hair Loss
Men and women looking to treat hair loss, thinning hair or baldness have found success in PRP treatments. PRP injections into the scalp stimulate bulb cells at the base of the hair. We typically recommend four treatments at one-month intervals. Treatments are safe, non-invasive, and take less than 30 minutes.
PRP is much faster and safer than plastic surgery, and each treatment takes approximately 30 minutes with benefits lasting approximately 18 months—optimal results are generally seen after a minimum of four treatments. Because it is a cell-stimulation treatment, the healing and recovery process is quicker than that of laser treatments and chemical peels. The stimulation of cells also remodels collagen fibers to improve skin’s elasticity, tone, and thickness.
There is no risk of reacting to PRP, as it involves the use of your own blood. Quickly growing in popularity, PRP is a novel way to look and feel great.
